You are more than the ways you've learned to survive.
Experiential, depth-oriented therapy for adults and older teens ready to move beyond understanding their patterns—and begin experiencing themselves differently.
Together, we create space to reconnect with the essence of who you are beneath anxiety, shame, people-pleasing, self-doubt, and the protective adaptations that may once have helped you feel safe.

MAYBE YOU UNDERSTAND THE PATTERN.
You just can't seem to change it.
You've thought about it. You've talked about it.
Maybe you've read the books, listened to the podcasts, or even been to therapy before. You understand why you react the way you do. And yet...
You still say yes when you want to say no.
You replay conversations long after they've ended.
You question yourself.
You feel responsible for other people's emotions.
You recognize the relationship pattern and somehow find yourself in it again.
You know what you should do, but something deeper seems to take over in the moment.
Insight matters.
But sometimes insight is only the beginning.
WHAT IF THE PROBLEM ISN'T WHO YOU ARE?
What if these patterns began as ways of protecting you?
I believe many of the behaviors we struggle with today began as intelligent adaptations to what life once required of us.
Perhaps you learned to keep the peace.
To achieve.
To anticipate what everyone else needed.
To stay quiet.
To be strong.
To never need too much.
To remain prepared for what might happen next.
These protective adaptations aren't character flaws.
They carry stories.
They once served a purpose.
And they deserve compassion before they are ever asked to change.
The work begins by gently asking:
What happened?
What did I learn?
What was this protecting?
When judgment becomes curiosity, something begins to soften. And new possibilities emerge.

THERAPY THAT REACHES
BEYOND INSIGHT
Healing isn't only an intellectual process.
It can involve the mind, body, emotions, imagination, relationships, nervous system, and the deeper beliefs we carry about ourselves.
That's why my work is experiential and individualized.
Some sessions may involve thoughtful conversation.
Others may incorporate Brainspotting, Expressive Arts Therapy, guided imagery, mindfulness, somatic awareness, sand tray, or other approaches that allow us to explore what words alone may not reach.
There is no rigid formula.
We listen carefully to what you need.
YOU MAY BE HERE BECAUSE...
You're tired of disappearing in relationships.
You care deeply about others but struggle to set boundaries, say no, or recognize your own needs without guilt.
People-Pleasing & Boundaries →
Your mind rarely stops.
You overthink, prepare, anticipate, replay, and struggle to fully rest—even when everything seems okay.
Anxiety & Overthinking →
You're harder on yourself than anyone else could ever be.
Shame, perfectionism, or an underlying sense of "not enough" continues to shape the way you see yourself.
Self-Worth & Shame →
The past keeps showing up in the present.
Old relationship wounds, family experiences, trauma, or attachment patterns continue influencing how safe it feels to trust, connect, and be fully yourself.
Trauma & Relationship Patterns →
Life has changed—and you're changing with it.
Loss, grief, parenthood, an empty nest, career change, divorce, aging, or another transition may leave you asking questions you have never had to ask before.
Grief & Life Transitions →

Meet Lori
Therapy should feel deeply human.
I'm Lori Reeves, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Certified Brainspotting and Expressive Arts practitioner.
My work is influenced by depth psychology and grounded in a deeply relational belief: meaningful change is more likely when you feel safe enough to stop performing and begin becoming curious about what is actually happening within you.
I don't approach therapy by asking what's wrong with you.
I'm interested in what happened, how you adapted, what those adaptations have protected—and what becomes possible when they no longer need to work quite so hard.
My role isn't to tell you who you should become.
It's to walk alongside you as you reconnect with the essence of who you already are.
