Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. It is a short-term, goal-oriented treatment that is effective for a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected. When we have negative thoughts, it can lead to negative emotions and unhelpful behaviors. CBT helps us to identify these harmful thoughts and beliefs, and to challenge them in a realistic and helpful way. This can lead to a more positive outlook on life, and to more effective coping skills.

CBT is a collaborative process between Lori and the client. Lori often gives homework assignments to practice between sessions.
